Free Community Breakfast

NEW ULM — A Free Community Breakfast will be served Saturday, March 30 at First United Methodist Church on the corner of Center and Broadway in New Ulm. Come from 8 to 10 a.m. for pancakes, eggs, sausage, and coffee. Bring family, friends, and the grandkids. All are welcome!

Al Batt to talk on birding at Community Center April 2

NEW ULM — New Ulm Public Library and CAST are sponsoring a presentation on Minnesota bird watching led by Al Batt at New Ulm Community Center (600 N German) on Tuesday, April 2 at 10 a.m.

Batt writes humor and nature pieces, including a column in “Bird Watcher’s Digest.” He won the Thomas Sadler Roberts Award from the Minnesota Ornithologists’ Union for lifetime contributions to birding and was recognized by Bluebirds Across Nebraska for outstanding contributions to wildlife conservation. Batt resides in Hartland, MN.

This free program is open to the public.

Seed strip garden planting program at Library April 4

NEW ULM — Emily Korbel, manager of the New Ulm Community Garden, will present “Planting with Seed Strips” on Thursday, April 4 at 6:30 p.m. at New Ulm Public Library.

She will discuss how to create and plant with seed strips and attendees will have the chance to create their own seed strips to take home.

The New Ulm Community Garden is a collaboration with Putting Green and is focused on small-scale sustainable farming operations.

This free program is open to the public.

CCW Sauerkraut and

Landjaeger Supper on Sunday

NEW ULM — The Cathedral Catholic Council of Women will hols their annual Sauerkraut, Landjaeger & Dumpling Dinner and Bake Sale on Sunday, March 31 at St. Mary’s Parish at 417 S. Minnesota St., New Ulm.

Serving is from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Items are served ala cart and take outs are available. The menu includes; sauerkraut, landjaegers, dumplings, german potato salad or mashed potatoes, green beans, dessert and beverages. There is also a bake sale featuring Schmierkuchen, caramel rolls, cinnamon rolls, breads, bars, cookies and more.
