Adult Winter Reading Program at Library

Those aged 16 and older are invited to participate in the free Adult Winter Reading Program at New Ulm Public Library from Wednesday, January 2 through Friday, March 1. This year’s program is “Book Bingo.” Participants can pick up a Bingo card at the library, read books to reach Bingo, and return their card to the library. Your first Bingo card earns you a free book and a chance to win one of two $25 Chamber Bucks certificates, donated by the Friends of the New Ulm Public Library. Library to show The Great Courses “Our Night Sky” series

New Ulm Public Library will show The Great Courses’ “Our Night Sky,” which includes a series of video lectures from award-winning astronomer and Professor Edward M. Murphy. Murphy will show attendees how to behold the marvels of the galaxy with just binoculars, a small telescope, or even the bare eye. The series, which is free and open to the public, will meet on Thursdays, January 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 at 6:30 p.m. Each session will include two or three 30-minute video lectures followed by a brief discussion.
