The Grand accepting art for ArtScape Juried Art Show

NEW ULM — The Grand Center for Arts and Culture is accepting submissions for the 10th Annual New Ulm ArtScape Juried Art Show on Saturday, Nov. 24, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday, Nov. 26, 2017 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Submissions may be dropped off at The Grand, 210 N Minnesota St, New Ulm.

The exhibition includes two different categories: student (grades 7-12) and adult. Each artist may submit up to 3 pieces of artwork. 2D and 3D work will be accepted for consideration. No installation pieces or artwork created by more than one person will be accepted. Artwork must be an original work completed within the last 5 years. Cost for each submission is $5 for students and members of the The Grand and $10 for other adults.

Accepted works will be posted at www.thegrandnewulm.com by Nov. 28th at 9 pm. Chosen works will be displayed in the 4 Pillars Gallery on the second floor of The Grand Center for Arts and Culture Nov. 30 – December 28, with an opening reception being held on Nov. 30th from 5-7:30pm.

Prize money will be awarded at the reception for first, second, third and honorable mention for the student and adult categories.

Friends of the New Ulm Public Library Used Book Sale 2018

NEW ULM — The Friends of the New Ulm Library are holding their used book sale. They will take your used books and find them new homes . Bring donations to the library any time before the sale on: Friday, Nov. 2, 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 3, 9:30 a.m. – Noon ($3 bag sale); Noon-1 p.m. ($1 final bag sale).
