Auditions set for ‘Charlie Brown Christmas’

NEW ULM — Are you bossy and opinionated like Lucy? A human soil bank like PigPen? Do you have a precocious skill at playing the toy piano like Schroeder? Then read for a part in the State Street Theater Company (SSTC) production of “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”

Auditions will be held on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 9 and 10 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the SSTC Off Broadway Stage, 1 N State Street, New Ulm. Callbacks will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 11. The director is Anita Prestidge.

The heartwarming classic, “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” will come to life in this faithful stage adaptation where Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the other Peanuts grapple with the real meaning of Christmas. Rehearsals will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays beginning Nov. 6. Performances will be held on the SSTC Main Stage at 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 24; with two performances, 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., on Saturday, November 25.

“A Charlie Brown Christmas,” by Charles M. Schulz, is based on the television special by Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson and is presented by arrangement with Tams-Whitmark Music Library, Inc.
