NEW ULM — After brief discussion Tuesday, a motion for a mental health evaluation for Randy Thomas Zimmerman was approved by Brown County District Court Judge Robert Docherty. NEW ULM – The candidate filing period to appear on the Nov. 3 general election ballot closed 5 p.m. Tuesday with no new candidates adding their names to local elections. In New Ulm, this mean Mayor Kathleen Backer and Ward 2 City Council Eric Warmka will run for re-election unopposed.
