NEW ULM — A New Ulm man who visited the Kwik Trip app one day and entered the Vikings Zone Sweepstakes, got a surprise when he won the contest.

“It’s something you never think would happen. It was crazy luck, a pleasant surprise. I’ve never won any contests before,” said Kevin Forstner. “I got a phone call last month and learned I was one of three finalists. To compete, I had to attend a live drawing at an Eagan Kwik Trip a few hours before the Jan. 4 Vikings-Packers game. A woman spun a wheel and I chose a gift box to stand in front of. I happened to be lined up in front of the box with a Bronco key in it. I also received two Vikings-Packers game tickets and took my wife Jodi to the game.”

The three sweepstakes finalists included another New Ulm contestant, Bill Kittler and a man from Cambridge. Kittler was not available for comment Thursday.

Forstner said he was selected as a sweepstakes finalist by a random computer drawing.

He said the Bronco he is pictured with is not the one he will receive. Forstner said he expects to get his new Bronco in the next few weeks.
