NEW ULM – Despite the recent snowstorm canceling preschool classes, the St. Paul’s Lutheran preschoolers were able to gather at the school Wednesday for an annual Christmas program.

The program began with the children bringing in a manager with baby Jesus on stage and singing “Away in the Manager.”

Preschool director Heidi Meyer said the preschool performance was a favorite of the parents every year. It was a chance for the children to learn and share the Christmas story.

As part of the program, the students recited the story of Mary and Joseph traveling to Bethlehem and how Jesus was born in a cattle shed and how his birth was told to the shepherds in the field.

Meyer said the students were real excited to perform this year. She said their favorite song was “Go Tell it on the Mountain,” because the kids were able to use big hand gestures as they sang.

Starting at $4.50/week.
