NEW ULM – The fifth and sixth graders from St. Paul’s Lutheran School paid their annual visit to Woodstone Senior Living Community and Highland Regency House to sing Christmas Carols for the residents.

The performances began with a quick piano recital from seven of the student. Addison Kuck, Braxton Huebner and Simone Thompson each played “Angels We Have Hear on High.” Brody Stadick played “Do You Hear What I Hear;” Brielle Newman performed “Go Tell it on the Mountain,” Haley Scherer played “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” and Linnea Gunderson performed “O Holy Night.”

Following the instrumental pieces, all 18 students joined in singing Christmas hymns for the residents. For the second half of the performance residents were encouraged to join the students in singing “Hark the Herald Angels Sing,” “Go, Tell it on the Mountain,” “Joy to the World” and “Silent Night.”

For the performance of “Silent Night” the student and residents sang the first verse in German followed by the English version.

Woodstone RN Morgan Gulden said residents loved the annual student Christmas performance.
