According to court documents, Winthrop Police and other law enforcement agencies responded at 7 a.m. Aug. 22 to a report of 10-15 gunshots fired at 306 South Redwood Street in Winthrop. At least three bullets were fired into the living and dining room of a house next door.
Executing a search warrant at Stolfa’s residence, she was found in her bedroom and taken into custody.
“I am being stalked by my neighbor and have a right to defend myself,” said Stolfa as she was taken into custody.
Multiple empty bullet casings were found on the ground outside. Live ammunition rounds were found on the ground at the bottom of the back door step. A 9mm Glock 48 handgun and live ammunition were found on the kitchen floor. Spent casings were also found in the basement, according to court documents. Multiple empty and partially empty beer cans were found throughout the home.
After being read her rights, Stolfa admitted to shooting her gun inside her resident and shooting into her neighbor’s house. She admitted to drinking a lot lately, she was drunk and thought it would be fun to shoot her gun.
A preliminary breath test revealed Stolfa’s blood alcohol content was 0.17.
Before contacting Stolfa, Winthrop Police and Sibley County Sheriff’s Office deputies issued a shelter in place order in a three-block radius around the 300 block of South Redwood Street Aug. 22. No injuries were reported and there was no ongoing community threat, according to police.
