New Ulm Police

• A 76-year-old New Ulm man told police he was a scam victim, losing $170,520, at 2:24 p.m. Tuesday. The man said he thought he was buying gold and moved money from a savings account to a Burnsville coin and collectible store but the money never made it to the store because it was intercepted by scammers. The report is under investigation.

• Responded to detox early Wednesday for a report of an employee stuck by a needle found on a 38-year-old homeless man who also had possession of controlled substances, some of which he claimed were prescribed. A report went to the Brown County Attorney’s Office for charge consideration of Legend drugs, fifth and third-degree controlled substance possession.
