NEW ULM — A large box near the Menards store exit is being used for a pet supply donation drive through Sept. 30.

“We donate everything to the Brown County Humane Society (BCHS)–toys, food, and other pet items,” said New Ulm Menards General Manager Mark O’Neill.

Items like pet food, treats, feeders, collars, beds, storage containers and mats can be purchased at Menards stores and placed in the collection box.

The BCHS reports needed items include dry and canned dog, puppy, cat and kitten food, dog and cat treats and toys, cat litter and litter box deodorizer, detergent, bleach, plastic storage containers, dryer sheets, paper towels, Kleenex, toilet paper, dish soap, trash bags, mops, brooms, copy paper, envelopes, stamps, tape, staples, scissors, sticky notes, pens and pencils.

The BCHS shelter at 1301 S. Valley St. asks the public to help by recycling aluminum cans. There is a recycle bin at the BCHS shelter. Money raised goes to the shelter’s general fund to help care for dogs and cats.

Donations of many types are sought to help the BCHS provide continued care for animals. All donations can be mailed or dropped off at the shelter. Electronic donations can be made using a DonorBox application. Visit https://bchsnu.com/donate/.

For more information, call the shelter at 507-359-2312.

Starting at $4.50/week.
