NEW ULM — After years of vision, planning, and hard work, Weelborg Chevrolet officially celebrated the completion of its extensive renovation and expansion project with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday morning. The event marked a milestone for the longtime New Ulm dealership, which now features a completely revamped showroom and updated facilities designed to enhance both customer experience and staff operations.

Ann Perry, CEO of Weelborg Chevrolet, reflected on the long journey leading up to the ribbon cutting. “This has been six years in the making. We spent the past year remodeling the building and bringing our vision to life,” she said. “We’re so proud of how it turned out and wanted to share this moment with our community, which has supported us for so many years.”

Perry emphasized that the renovation isn’t just about appearances, it represents Weelborg’s continued investment in New Ulm and its commitment to serving customers in all aspects of the dealership, from sales and service to community involvement.

“We’re proud to be a part of the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce and the business community here,” Perry said. “It’s more than just a new look. It’s a sign of our growth, our dedication, and our excitement for the future. We want to be a place that people feel proud to visit, whether they’re buying a car, coming in for service, or attending a community event.”

Joining Perry was Steve Williams, the dealership’s general manager, who came on board in June. Williams brings 18 years of experience in the auto industry, having most recently worked in Spirit Lake, Iowa.

“I started at the bottom and worked my way up the ladder,” Williams said. “After spending the last six years in Spirit Lake, I’m happy to now call New Ulm home. It’s a wonderful town, and I’m looking forward to building relationships and becoming active in the community.”

As part of the celebration, Weelborg Chevrolet will host a community open house on Friday, August 8, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event will feature a car roll-in, an action-packed air show showcasing ATVs and motorcycles, and a burger bar serving food and refreshments. The public is invited to attend and get a first-hand look at the dealership’s updated space.

Perry expressed her gratitude to the entire staff for their dedication during the renovation process. “None of this would have been possible without the incredible effort of our team. I also want to thank the community for their patience and support, it means the world to us.”

Weelborg Chevrolet’s expansion signals a renewed investment in local service and community engagement, one that Perry and her team are excited to build upon in the future.
