MORTON — The National Water Prediction Service issued a flood warning Friday for the Minnesota River at Morton until Sunday morning.

The river was observed at 21.7 feet at 9 a.m. Friday. The river reached 21.9 feet prior to Friday morning but is expected to fall below flood stage, 21 feet, early Saturday afternoon and continue falling to 20.3 feet Friday, June 27.

Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. The 21.7 crest compares to a previous crest of 21.9 feet on April 4, 2007.
