Fireworks vendor open through July 7

NEW ULM — TNT Fireworks manager Maison Wendt says there are a number of popular firework products available to consumers during the days leading up to the Fourth of July holiday.

The TNT tent is located at the southeast corner of the Walmart parking.

She said a handheld Mighty Sword, a large sparkler advertised as “raining down silver sparks with a flourish of knightly power” is her favorite firework.

Wendt said icebreaker fountains are also popular. She added that all fireworks now have fuses that glow in the dark.

Assistant TNT Fireworks tent manager Greyson Young of Fairmont said his favorite firework is a pack of smoke balls available in four different colors.

The tent is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily through next weekend.

The sale, possession and use of non-explosive and non-aerial consumer fireworks including sparklers, cones and tubes that emit sparks, novelty-items like snakes and party poppers are permitted in Minnesota.

Prohibited fireworks include but are not limited to, firecrackers, bottle rockets, missiles, roman candles, mortars and shells, according to the Minnesota State Department of Public Safety.

Consumer fireworks may not be used on public property such as parks, roads, alleys, schools, and government property).

Fireworks purchasers must be at least 18 years old.

Retailers are required to check photo identification.
