New Ulm’s ambassadors of goodwill opened another season of Music in the Park Thursday. The Concord Singers have opened nearly every Music in the Park season, excepted when touring Germany.

NEW ULM — The 2024 Music in the Park series began Thursday in German Park with a performance from New Ulm’s ambassadors of goodwill, The Concord Singers.

The Concord Singers have long been the opening act for the summer Music in the Park series. The band performed several traditional German songs, many of them in German.

This was the first time Music in the Park was held on a Thursday instead of a Monday. Each Thursday a new musician or band will play a concert in the park. Park & Rec. on The Go will host games and activities in the park before each concert starting at 6 p.m. The Puppet Wagon will host a performance at 6:15 p.m.

Next Thursday, June 13 The Ulmer Quartet will perform in the German Park amphitheater.
