SE school board board OKs 2025 class trip

Orlando trip costs students $1,350 each

SLEEPY EYE — The Sleepy Eye Public School Board unanimously approved a Senior Class trip request to Florida again, Wednesday.

Action came on a motion by board member Casey Coulson, seconded by Joleen Dittbenner for a March 26-29 trip to Orlando, Fl. Projected cost per student is $1,350 each, through Emerald Travel, Mankato.

Trip coordinator Caitlyn Pietig said 37 of 44 students (82%) have expressed interest in the trip. Sixty percent class interest is required to move forward. A down payments of $150 with letter of intent is due April 24. A $150 payment with notarized letter of commitment is due May 15.

Plans include visits to Cocoa Beach, Volcano Bay water park, City Walk or Disney Springs, Islands of Adventure Universal Studios theme park and a final theme park day at Universal Studios.

The board viewed a video of the Class of 2024 Orlando trip featuring Cocoa Beach, Universal Studios water park, electric bikes, Disney Springs mall, Universal Studios and a free last day.

The board approved a $10,000 2024-25 Allina Health/New Ulm Medical Center Sports Medicine Athletic Training service agreement.

Donations of $4,000 from the Sleepy Eye FFA Boosters to the Sleepy Eye FFA, $1,000 from Schwartz Farms and $400 from Open Bible Church to the River Valley Track program and $50 from Gary Walter to the softball fundraiser account.
