Commissioners ok spring road restrictions

Seven county roads improved to 10 tons

NEW ULM — Brown County commissioners unanimously approved setting 2024 spring road restrictions Tuesday.

Action came on a motion by Commissioner Tony Berg, seconded by Dave Borchert. Spring road postings usually begin in late February or early March. The State gives three days notice before road restrictions begin.

Brown County Highway Engineer Wayne Stevens said work done in 2023 improved the strength of road structure on seven road segments. Raising spring road restrictions to 10 tons are:

• CSAH 9 from the south county line to CSAH 18.

• CSAH 11 from the south county line to CSAH 20.

• CSAH 11 from TH 14 to CSAH 29.

• CSAH 20 from CSAH 8 to TH 4.

• CSAH 20 from CSAH 13 to TH 15.

• CSAH 24 from CSAH 13 to TH 15 and in Searles.

• CSAH 35 (First Avenue) from Walnut Street to CSAH 34 (St. Mary’s Street) in Sleepy Eye.

No other changes were recommended.
