NEW ULM –Halloween comes early for children and adults in New Ulm.

Youth grabbed their candy buckets and visited New Ulm businesses for the annual Halloween Hop Saturday. Over 30 New Ulm businesses participated earlier trick to treat events. Downtown New Ulm was filled with families going door-to-door for candy.

At the same time as the Halloween Hop, The Brown County Historical Society Museum hosted it’s annual Halloween scavenger hunt with scarecrows, witches cauldrons and other Halloween decor hidden throughout the museum. Most of the BCHS volunteers were dressed up as witches. Volunteer Katy Kalz said the museum saw nearly 290 kids stop in by noon.

The 3rd annual ECFE Community Truck or Treat was held at Jefferson Elementary School. Dozens of organizations and businesses parked their vehicles in the lot to pass out candy.

Betty Uehling with ECFE said 18 vehicles participated in this year’s trunk or treat. ECFE was unable to count everyone who came to collect candy, but Uehling said at least 700 people signed in at the registration table.

Starting at $4.38/week.
