NEW ULM — Bryer Hoffman and Alexandra Groebner were crowned 2023 New Ulm High School’s Homecoming King and Queen at Monday’s coronation.
Hoffman is the son of Chad and Amber Hoffman. At NUHS, Hoffman is involved in hockey, National Honor Society, and FFA. He is the vice president of the NUHS student council. He is an active volunteer. He helped to organize a fundraiser for Syrian refugees and has assisted NUHS and the New Ulm Hockey Association.
He is planning on attending UW-Madison or the University of North Dakota to obtain a degree in environmental science. Hoffmann will miss seeing his friends everyday at school, participating in battle of the classes, and catching up with his teachers. He said he will not miss the chaos of trying to leave the parking lot during lunch and after school.
Groebner is the daughter of Nate and Amanda Groebner. Groebner has been involved in tennis, theatre, knowledge bowl, dance, student council, and track and field. Groebner is also the president of NHS and attended the American Legion Auxiliary’s Girls State in 2023. She has also been an avid volunteer, donating time to the community and working with her classmates on a fundraiser for earthquake victims.
Groebner is planning to go to college out of state to pursue a degree in communications. Groebner said she will miss the time spent with all the people in her different activities and having fun during “work time”. What she will not miss is the combined time commitment of high school, homework, and her basic needs.
