Addison Hage 4th in VFW speech contest

NEW ULM — Addison Hage from New Ulm took fourth place in Minnesota’s Veterans of Foreign Wars Second District “Voice of Democracy” speech competition. The Second District includes 34 posts covering most of the southern third of the state.

Hage, who was awarded a certificate and $50, said that she intends to enter the contest again next year.

High school students in grades 9 through 12 are eligible to enter the “Voice of Democracy” contest and students in grades 6 through 8 can enter the “Patriot’s Pen” written essay competition. Anyone interested should contact their local Veterans of Foreign Wars post for more information.
