Winter Crops Day Jan. 12 in Waseca

WASECA — The Southern Research and Outreach Center at Waseca will be hosting the Annual Winter Crops Day Thursday, Jan. 12. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with the program beginning at 9 a.m. Lunch will be served at noon and the program wraps up at 2 p.m. The cost is $40 which includes morning refreshments, lunch and hand-out materials. No pre-registration is required. CEUs will be available for Certified Crop Advisors.

The topics include: Integrating mid-season application of nitrogen and sulfur into corn production with Jeff Coulter, UM Extension Corn Agronomist; Tar spot and other diseases in corn and soybean with Dean Malvick, Professor, at the UM Dept. of Plant Pathology; U of M weed research trials with Tom Hoverstad, SROC, Agronomy Researcher and Ryan Miller, Regional Extension Educator, and Soil Testing and Interpretation: What’s important, what’s not, presented by Jeff Vetsch, Nutrient Management Researcher at the SROC.
