NEW ULM — Join a local cast and some out of town guests for a dinner theater event on Dec. 10 at Inspire, 126 N. Minnesota St., New Ulm, and work to solve the mystery of the “Murder at the Wedding at the Ben Franklin,” an original murder mystery written and directed by Paul Warshauer.
The ticket price of $59 per person includes admission to the show, a three course meal, and one cocktail. Cocktail hour begins at 5 p.m., and the show and dinner will begin around 6 p.m. This is an opportunity for companies to have a unique holiday party. Space is limited, so make sure to get your ticket soon to ensure your spot is held.
The site is the former Ben Franklin store, later renamed “Zen Rfanklib.” Otto Schleissithoff, hog farmer from Essig, (played by Mark Santelman) is reluctantly marrying off his daughter, Heidi Schleissithoff, (played by Jennifer Deutz), to Giovanni Ratzi, (played by Patrick Leigh), father of local pasta king, Papa Ratzi, (played by Daryl Hrdlicka). The bride’s godfather, Uncle Karl who used to own the Ben Franklin, (played by Paul Henning) is hell bent on stopping the wedding. Trouble is brewing and wedding coordinator, Mr. Bruce, (played by Kent Menzel) has his hands full at the rehearsal dinner. It all results in the murder of someone in the wedding party! Typical of Warshauer’s mysteries, the audience gets to cross examine the suspects and vote for their choice of murderer at the end.
Warshauer has written and directed over 450 mysteries beginning in 1991 in all 50 states, London, Paris, and on cruise ships. His company, Murders4Fun performs all over the country.
