NEW ULM– A gang of several dozen motorcycles left the New Ulm American Legion at 12:30 p.m. Saturday for the annual American Legion Riders Memorial Ride.

This year the convoy of bikers took a 80-mile loop, traveling from New Ulm to Fairfax, Morgan, Sleepy Eye and back to New Ulm.

Each year the American Legion Riders organize the ride. It was previously called the American Legion Pork Chop Ride. This year’s ride was held in memorial to Pat Basset, Pat Dietz, Jane Grundmeyer, Ken Howk, Doug Kraus, Bob Roesch and Jeff Wenninger.

The event serves as a fundraiser for the Legion Legacy Fund. The money is used to help veterans in need.

Anyone wishing to still donate may drop funds off at the New Ulm Legion post or mail donations to P.O. Box 471.

Starting at $4.50/week.
