As the 2021-22 school year comes to a close, New Ulm Area Catholic Schools celebrated longtime teachers who are retiring, each with more than 30 years of service. A special lunch was held honoring six NUACS teachers. Retiring teachers at Cathedral with more than 30 years of service are, from left: Paul Hazuka with 38 years teaching, Lisa Verschatse with 37 years teaching, Anita Shikoski with 39 years teaching, Nancy Genelin with34 years teaching, Ann Hawkes with 32 years teaching and Marijo Sweeney with 35 years teaching. Combined, these six teachers have served 211 years as educators for NUACS.
