Learn memoir writing at the library

Have you been thinking about how to share the story of your life? Would you like to write about your experiences but aren’t sure how to begin?

The New Ulm Public Library will be starting a memoir writing group on Monday, March 21, at 10 a.m. in the Fred Johnson room. This first meeting will feature a workshop taught by Linda Good, facilitator of the Mankato Memoir Group, which has met weekly for over 11 years.

During the pandemic, the group published a book, “Preserving Memories,” of its memoirs, with 57 memoirs written by 21 authors in their 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.

Linda will discuss the who, what, where, when, and why of getting a group started. She will also share research about the benefits of memoir writing. Attendees will be invited to participate in a writing experience.

Starting at $4.50/week.
