Submitted photo Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School seniors Josh Giefer and Donovan Witte have both been named as commended scholars by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Giefer and Witte achieved this recognition through their outstanding scores on the 2020 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying test (PSAT/NMSQT) that they took in October of 2020, as juniors. Of the approximately 1.5 million high school juniors that took the exam, Giefer and Witte’s scores each placed in the top 50,000 of all test takers. Of the top 50,000, Giefer and Witte were two of the 34,000 students to receive letters of commendation for their outstanding academic success.
