Planning panel OKs rezoning
NEW ULM — The New Ulm Planning Commission approved a rezoning request for 2010 S. Broadway following a public hearing.
Christopher and Laura Williams requested to rezone a property at 2010 S. Broadway as a service business district (B-2).
The property was previously zoned B-2 but was changed to a limited business (B-1) district in 2012. This change would return the property to its original status. The change would allow the owners to operate a business out of their dwelling.
The city received a single phone call regarding the rezoning from a neighbor. The neighbor had no objection to the rezoning. No further comments were received from the public during the hearing.
With no objections from the public, the commission unanimously approved the rezoning. It will come before the New Ulm City Council on Oct. 5.

A simple lot division was unanimously approved for 901 S. Washington St. The division would create two parcels and allow two single-family units on a corner lot.
The lot already has a house on the western parcel. Off-street parking would be required for the eastern parcel.

A preliminary plat was approved for 16052 and 16032 Oakwood Heights Rd. The proposed plat would move the property line between the two lots 33 feet east and place the property line in the approximate center of the paved roadway. Staff stated this would create a more logical layout for the two lots.
