Sperl wins again in LA

LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles actor, director, guitarist and model Natalie Sperl received another movie award Sunday night, taking the 2021 City of Angels Women’s Film Festival Best Short Film title.

Sperl’s two-minute black and white film, “Caroline” had to be shot entirely on a cell phone. It features a woman learning the latest news about the COVID-19 pandemic while watching a television news show.

Sperl, the daughter of Arlene and Dennis Sperl of New Ulm, plays the newscaster and a women watching the news show in the film.

“What an amazing festival supporting women and LGBTQ filmmakers. Honored,” Sperl posted on Facebook.
