GBHS Autumn Event Oct. 23

SLEEPY EYE — THE German Bohemian Heritage Society’s Autumn Event is coming to Sleepy Eye and is open to the public on Saturday, Oct. 23 at the Sleepy Eye Event Center.

Social hour is at 5 p.m. with live music from the Black Diamonds Band, meal and short meeting at 6 p.m., followed by guest speaker Barbara Kodet Mages at 6 p.m. Cost is $30 per person. Registrations must be received by Oct. 6.

All are welcome at the German Bohemian Heritage Society’s meeting.

Mages will be providing an entertaining talk titled, “To Bechyn and Back,” about life, heritage, and family experiences.

Barbara Kodet Mages was born in 1929, just before “The Great Depression.” Mages will be speaking as a Minnesota Author of the books “To Bechyn and Back,” “Dandelion Salad” and her newest novel which will soon be released, “Golden Acres.” Her presentation will include interesting stories about the Mages and Kodet family heritage including detailed information about ancestors coming to America from Czechoslovakia.

A book signing event will also be part of the evening.
