New Daycare Provider Program Informational Meeting is September 30

Do you love to take care of children? Childcare in our area is in high demand! To assist our area’s fulltime home daycare providers, Mayor Terry Sveine has proposed a wonderful new program, the Senior Subs. The Senior Subs will serve as substitute home daycare providers, on a part-time basis, at the fulltime home daycare provider’s home. This assistance enables the fulltime provider to attend appointments, run errands, etc.

The Senior Subs program will provide seniors with access to the required licensure training and coordination of part-time substitute daycare provider services. New Ulm’s Economic Development Association (EDA) has approved funding the training costs for the Senior Subs Daycare Providers, so there is no cost to you. There is no age, schedule or previous experience required.

Join us at the CAST Senior Center at 11am on Thursday, September 30 for a panel discussion and informational meeting on the proposed new Senior Subs Daycare Providers program. No reservations required. Your input and questions are encouraged, as this program is in its initial development stages. Our panel will include Mayor Terry Sveine and Laura Filzen and staff from Brown County Human Services.

This program is coordinated by the City of New Ulm, The New Ulm Economic Development Association, Brown County Family Services, and the Community and Seniors Together organization. Questions? Call the CAST office at 507-354-3212 or email castnu@newulmtel.net.
