Brown County reports 12 new COVID cases
NEW ULM — Brown County Public Health reported 12 new COVID-19 cases Monday, since the last report a week ago.
The figure gives Brown County 20 active cases and 3,112 total confirmed cases.
Since the pandemic began, more than 1,000 Brown County cases came from known contacts with confirmed, community cases. More than 900 cases came from the community with no known contact with a confirmed case, according to the Brown County COVID-19 Dashboard.
Vaccine clinics include 2:30 to 5:20 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 12 at the Brown County Public Health office, 1117 Center St., New Ulm; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14 at the Brown County Free Fair, and 2:30 to 5:20 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 19 at the Brown County Public Health office.
Other vaccine sites include New Ulm Medical Center, Sleepy Eye Medical Center and area pharmacies including Hy-Vee, Walmart and Thrifty White by online appointment only.
Walk-in Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines are available for individuals age 12 and older from noon to 2 p.m. weekdays at the St. Peter Health and Human Services building, 622 S. Front St. through the end of August. Appointments are not necessary. Minors must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Interpreters are available upon request.
Sibley County Public Health is hosting weekly COVID-19 vaccination clinics for first and second Moderna vaccine doses, 9-11 a.m. on Wednesdays through Sept. 8 at the Sibley County Service Center, 111 8th St., Gaylord.
Statewide, 3,199,358 people had at least one vaccine dose as of Aug. 5; and 3,018,687 people completed the COVID-19 vaccine series.
In Minnesota, 69.5% of individuals age 16 and older have at least one vaccine dose and 66% have completed the COVID-19 vaccine series as of Aug. 9.
