AACA Grand Nationals in New Ulm this weekend

NEW ULM — The Antique Automobile Club of America is holding its annual Grand Nationals Car Show this weekend, July 23 and 24, at the Brown County Fairgrounds in New Ulm where the Minnesota Region AACA will be host.

More than 100 antique vehicles, ranging from a 1903 Holley Roadster to a 1989 Buick LeSabre Coupe, will be displayed, the national club notes. Others include a 1917 Locomobile 48 custom dual cowl, 1928 Gardner 85 roadster, 1929 REO Flying Cloud phaeton, 1939 Lincoln Zephyr convertible, 1941 DeSoto Custom Club Coupe, 1954 Kaiser-Darrin 161, 1964 Amphicar 770, and 1969 Mercury Cyclone. All cars displayed already have won AACA Senior Awards.

In addition, 18 vehicles will vie for the Zenith Award as the restoration of the year.

Zenith judging and awards presentations will run from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday, July 23 at the New Ulm Civic Center.

The car show, which is free to the public, is set for 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 24 at the Brown County Fairgrounds.
