Boy in a coma

NEW ULM — The 8-year-old New Ulm boy struck by a vehicle Saturday remains in a coma.

The boy was air lifted to Hennipin County Medica Center Saturday following the accident. According to a gofundme page set up on behalf of the family, the boy has sustained a head injury and a punctured lung that required surgery. As of Monday night the boy remained in a coma.

According to the New Ulm Police Department (NUPD) the vehicle accident occurred around 12:30 p.m. Saturday a 1975 Dodge driven by a 17-year old was traveling south on Jefferson Street in the North 0-100 block. The boy was on a razor electric dirt bike traveling west in the alley from 900 block Center Street. The boy entered entered the street from the alley and was struck by the vehicle
