GREEN ISLE — Green Isle, Hamburg, and Norwood-Young America Fire Departments were called to a grainery fire on 331st Ave. in Sibley County just before Saturday noon.

At the scene, NYA Chief 4 reported a totally engulfed structure extending to a shed and nearby grass. With high temperatures and water tankers needed, a second alarm was requested for Arlington, Plato, Cologne, Victoria and Belle Plaine to assist.

Crews used a defensive strategy with hand lines and aerial pipes to extinguish the fire. Extensive overall was needed due to the amount of hay bales in the shed.
