Pouring into the fair (and onto it)

NEW ULM — Families poured into Jefferson Elementary parking lot Wednesday during a downpour to visit the vehicle fair.

The vehicle fair is an annual event at New Ulm’s elementary school. It is a chance for kids to get up close with unique vehicles from ambulances and firetrucks to dump trucks and race cars.

Several kids were able to climb inside these unusual vehicles and try out the horn. A few lucky kids got to try on the firefighter hat.

Many of the families were excited to attend they refused to let a little, or even a lot of, rain stop them.

Within the first 30 minutes of the vehicle fair, 122 people visited, even as the rain drummed down on top of them.
