GAYLORD — A West Des Moines Community Schools director of teaching and learning services has verbally accepted the Sibley East Public School superintendent position.

The Sibley East School Board selected Dr. Joseph Libby for the job March 24 after interviewing him and two other finalists. Libby has worked in education 27 years, 24 years as an administrator.

Libby will follow Sibley East Superintendent Jim Amsden who retires July 1. Other finalists were New Ulm Public Schools Director of Learning Services Paul Henn and Shakopee Public Schools Learning, Teaching and Equity Supervisor Ford Rolfsrud.
