County reports 95 new COVID-19 cases in past week

BROWN COUNTY — Brown County Public Health (BCPH) continues to report increased numbers of cases this week. The BCPH report on Friday reported 33 new COVID-19 cases since its March 31 update. That number was 18 more than the State of Minnesota Department of Health reported for the county on Thursday.

The new, laboratory-confirmed cases included people ranging in age from under the age of 10 to those in their 80s. The update brought the total number of confirmed cases to 2,794.

In the past week, 95 new laboratory-confirmed cases were reported in Brown County. The total on March 26 was 2,699 cases.

BCPH continues to offer COVID-19 vaccinations as it receives doses from the Minnesota Department of Public Health.

In an effort to vaccinate all those who are interested in receiving a dose, the county is using a wait list in the event there are short-notice cancellations.

People can sign up for the list by completing a form posted on the the BCPH Facebook site. A person’s information will be saved and they will be contacted only when a dose is available.

Filling out the form does not guarantee a COVID-19 vaccine dose.

Vaccine wait list questions include your first and last name, phone number, email address, street address, zip code, gender, birthdate, race, ethnicity, COVID-19 vaccine and employment category, name of your employer, and occupation.
