NEW ULM — New Ulm High School senior Connor Slette is the recipient of the regional Triple-A Award.

The Triple-A award is given to students excelling in athletic, academics and fine arts.

Slette has played three sports in high school; football, basketball and baseball.

In academics, he is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council and knowledge Bowl. His favorite classes are science and math.

In fine arts, Slette plays percussion in the band, is a tenor in the choir and has acted in the school musical, once playing the lead in “Footloose.”

Slette said he was excited to receive the award and was surprised to receive the regional honor.

After high school, Slette said he plans to attend the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities and attend the College of Biological Science. Slette said he is uncertain of the exact field he will pursue but said he has always wanted to be a doctor. His favorite class in high school was anatomy. He is considering orthopedics.
