FAIRFAX — Family, friends, neighbors, and former schoolmates of the late Mike Palmer helped his wife Jolene and their three daughters harvest 1,000 acres of corn Oct. 16.

People from Fairfax, Franklin, Olivia, Bird Island, Hector, Buffalo Lake, Stewart, Gibbon, and New Ulm pitched in to complete the task in 15 hours using 11 combines, 11 grain carts, and 27 semis.

A number of businesses helped bring 382 trucks with 327,000 bushels including Central Region Cooperative, Miller Sellner Implement, AgQuest, Henslin Auctions and Frandsen Bank.
