Acupuncture now available again at New Ulm Medical Center

NEW ULM — Allina Health is pleased to announce that Megan Pierson, licensed Acupuncturist and Oriental Medicine practitioner, is now offering acupuncture services at New Ulm Medical Center. These services had been offered at NUMC previously, but were put on hold due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Acupuncturists practice in holistic and medical settings to prevent disease and alleviate pain, anxiety, insomnia and more health issues. Acupuncture is the insertion of very thin, sterile needles into specific points on your body. Part of an ancient medical system called Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture can stimulate your body’s natural healing mechanisms and promotes well-being. Acupuncture can help with the quality of your well-being when you are dealing with most medical conditions or health issues.

“I enjoy the opportunity to be there for the patients in a comforting manner,” Pierson said. “I get to listen to their problems, make them feel safe with a healing touch, and improve their condition in a noninvasive way.”

Pierson treats patients in the Penny George Institute for Health and Healing at New Ulm Medical Center. The Penny George Institute is recognized as a national leader in holistic medicine – often called complementary or integrative medicine. The services they offer are intended to improve your well-being by focusing on your whole being, mind, body and spirit.
