NEW ULM — A New Ulm man was injured in a tractor accident around 5:15 p.m. Wednesday on County Road 29.

Michael Meyer was mowing in a field when he became caught between the tractor and the mower. He was able to call 911 to report the accident. New Ulm Rescue, New Ulm Fire Department, Brown County Sheriff and Minnesota state troopers responded to the scene, a few miles west of New Ulm. They were able to free Meyer within a few minutes of the call.

A helicopter ambulance was originally called, but was given a return message before it arrived. Meyer was transported by ambulance to New Ulm Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
