U. S. Dakota War tours on BCHS website end Sept. 20

NEW ULM — For the safety of the Brown County Historical Society staff, volunteers and visitors and to support the effort to contain COVID-19, the Brown County Museum and Kiesling House continue to be closed. During this time, the BCHS is exploring creative ways to provide program opportunities and is offering two programs on its website.

Two popular tours are offered on the BCHS website as part of the U. S. Dakota War commemoration programming. The guided tour of the Pioneer Section of the City Cemetery and the walking tour of downtown New Ulm Dakota War sites provide insight into events related to the U. S. Dakota War of 1862. The speaker series program is cancelled this year.

The public can view both of the tours on the BCHS website at browncountyhistorymn.org.

The tours have been available on the site for viewing since Saturday, Aug, 22, and end Sunday, Sept. 20.
