New Ulm Community Garden awarded grant for hand washing stations

NEW ULM — To provide the safest community garden experience during the COVID-19 pandemic, the New Ulm Community Garden was awarded a grant to install hand washing stations and signage. The grant was awarded by the Brown, Nicollet, Le Sueur, and Waseca Counties Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (BNLW SHIP).

“On behalf of the New Ulm Community Garden Members,” said Renee Petersen, New Ulm Community Garden manager, “we thank you for the BNLW Ship grant which helps to make gardening safe during the Covid-19 pandemic.”

This project aligns with BNLW SHIP’s mission to provide safe access to healthy food options. For more information about partnering with BNLW SHIP, contact Leah Mahoney at (507) 934-7221 or visit https://www.health.state.mn.us/ship.
