Doughnuts for donations

NEW ULM – United Prairie in New Ulm hosted a Doughnut Eating Contest as part of Crazy Days, with doughnut holes provided by The Backerei. Six local “celebrities” ate as many doughnuts as they could in three minutes. The top three winners won a donation from United Prairie Bank to their favorite local charity.

The first-place winner, Jim Henderson from New Ulm Public Utilities, donated his $250 to the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 15. Commander Marsha Bryant accepted the donation. The second-place winner, New Ulm Chamber President/CEO, Michael Looft, presented his $150 donation to the United Way of the Brown County Area – Executive Director, Lori Pickell-Stangel and Addy Rustin, who also competed in the event. The third-place winner, Trevor Park, Relationship Manager at United Prairie, presented $100 to Brad Kirk, Executive Director of the New Ulm Emergency Food Shelf.
