MANKATO – Construction of State Highways 111/22 will shift north from State Highway 99 in Nicollet to Nicollet CR 1 to north of CR 1 to Gaylord as of Monday, Aug. 10 with a detour change.

The new detour will be Nicollet CR 1 and State Highways 15 and 19. A second way-finding route, (not marked as a detour), would be U.S. Highway 169 at St. Peter and State Highways 93 and 19.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation has completed Highway 111/22 work on stage one from Nicollet to CR 1. That highway section will open to traffic with the detour change Aug. 10.

The project on Highways 111/22 from Nicollet to Gaylord began May 4 and is expected to be complete in October.

In addition to repaving the road, the project will add lighting at six rural intersections, install snow fence along Highway 22, replace guardrail and do utility work in Nicollet.

OMG Midwest was awarded the projects with a bid of $13,466,297.14.
