Good-bye to kindergarten

Kindergarten graduate Nora Nelson tries the obstacle course at Washington Learning Center (WLC) along with her four-year-old sister Emmy Munse. The obstacle course was part of WLC’s farewell event. Students were able to say good-bye to their teachers in person.

NEW ULM — Washington Learning Center (WLC) hosted a farewell event for the kindergarten students. The kindergarten graduates were able to visit the school by appointment to say good-bye to the teachers in person. The WLC teachers and para-professionals were spaced around the school to accommodate social distancing.

Principal Dawn Brown said this was closure for the teachers and students.

Every teacher had a little activity for their students to do such as planting seeds or an obstacle course.

Phy-ed teacher Mikayla Lindell had the students run through an improvised obstacle course. Parents were able to get a photo of their children completing the course to close out their kindergarten year.
