SE City Council OKs street fixes
SLEEPY EYE — The Sleepy Eye City Council unanimously approved a resolution ordering 12th Avenue N.E. and St. Mary’s Street improvements at a special meeting Wednesday noon.
Sleepy Eye City Engineer David Palm said Minnesota State Aid and DEED (Department of Employment and Economic Development) funds reduce the project cost to $3.5 million.
Palm presented a preliminary assessment roll summary at the meeting that detailed project costs.
Mathiowetz Construction of Sleepy Eye submitted the low bid for the project.
The city council unanimously approved a resolution moving the August primary election and November general election site from the Sleepy Eye Community Center to the Sleepy Eye Event Center in order to gain more space for social distancing.
