Nuvera announces Locally Growin’ campaign to support local economy

NEW ULM — Nuvera announced the launch of a new campaign called Locally Growin.’

The intent of the campaign is to support the local economy during the COVID restrictions, by giving new Internet and TV customers $50 to spend at local businesses. This spending money will be in the form of chamber dollars or gift cards. These customers will also receive a $50 credit on their first invoice.

“Nuvera has a history of being committed to interacting with and strengthening our communities we serve,” said Kathy Van Roekel, Senior Director of Marketing. “We especially understand the importance of this during this time when businesses are operating with limitations.”

Kristine Rueckert Agency announces $1,500 grant for United Way – Brown County

NEW ULM — Farmers Insurance agent Kristine Rueckert nominated and secured a $1,500 grant for United Way – Brown County, to aid in relief efforts directly related to the current crisis.

Farmers is granting donations to nonprofits directly related to COVID-19 relief efforts, as nominated by Farmers agents and district managers across the country. To offer support to her community,

The money will provide immediate support to non-profit organizations that provide services to families and individuals in Brown County. The donation will help provide funds for their COVID-19 emergency non-profit assistance grants. These grants focus on basic needs (food, clothing, housing), health (physical, mental, and those with disabilities) and vulnerable populations who suffer hardship as a direct result of COVID-19.

Feehan hosts virtual roundtable

NEW ULM — DFL congressional candidate Dan Feehan will host a virtual roundtable with area business owners to discuss the challenges and hardship that has resulted from COVID-19 on Wednesday, May 6, at 1:30 p.m.

Feehan will speak with local business owners about their experience with the Paycheck Protection Program and the challenges that have resulted from COVID-19. The goal of the roundtable is to gain further insight into the struggles facing southern Minnesota’s business owners and hear their feedback on what response is needed at the federal level.
