Thousands of masks were donated to NUMC

NEW ULM — Sunday was the last day of New Ulm Medical Center’s mask drive, but new donations will still be accepted at the clinic entrance.

With the possibility of a surge in coronavirus patients, NUMC has been seeking to increase its supply of protective masks for physicians and staff. Thousands of masks have been donated by the community.

NUMC Sports Medicine Coordinator Marcus Hopp has monitored mask donations. He said NUMC was excited with the communities support. Everyone stepped up to donate. Many of the masks were homemade and featured creative patterns.

Even though the drive has ended, donations will still be accepted at the Medical Center Clinic entrance. A deposit site will be set up for collection between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
