NEW ULM — Joe Gartner will present “A Great Grandson’s Perspective on His Civil War Ancestors” at the Minnesota Valley Civil War Round Table on Tuesday, March 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the library. Gartner will discuss the roles that five of his ancestors played in the Civil War. The Minnesota Valley Civil War Round Table series is presented the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at New Ulm Public Library and is free and open to the public. Scholarship Deadline is March 15

NEW ULM — The deadline for the Charlotte Raymond Anderson Teaching Scholarship is March 15, 2020. This is a new $5,000 scholarship awarded annually to one student pledging their intent to attain the highest level of proficiency in teaching or an established educator pursuing a graduate degree to increase their expertise in teaching. The scholarship also carries potential of renewal for the recipient each year of college after being awarded the scholarship.
